Wanted to update everyone on our current progress with the Pastor Search Committee. As a reminder of who we are, we are a group of members of the congregation, council, and board with all different views of who we need in a pastor. Along with different abilities to make this a success.
At our latest meeting:
-We have finished the job description for posting. This included who we are, what type of pastor we are looking for, benefits we are offering, and what qualifications we are looking for.
-Our final draft went before the church board Friday, they approved our proposal and changed some by-laws regarding being currently enrolled in a seminary program.
-After the approval we will be posting this job description ASAP.
We are looking at about a 6 weeks for responses. If no movement we will look at hiring some more professional help.
Now, You may be asking why has it been so long? We decided to get through the holidays so we can put forth our undivided attention into this process.
I want to remind everyone This has been a very challenging time for all of us, congregation and our committee. Keep in mind this is our very first time having to do this, since we have disaffiliated from the UMC. In Past we would have been appointed someone. So please have patience and compassion during this time. I have the upmost faith and trust in our committee and board. We are doing our best with everyone's best interest in mind. Also, be in prayer for the person God has planned for us.
Thank you, if you have any questions please reach out to me personally.
God Bless.

I know the committee has a difficult job ahead of them . This has been my church and my sister’s since I was 6 yrs old and still our church. We have had some amazing pastors in this time. There is one that stands out to me after I became an adult. He has come back at times to fill in for Pastor Monty and he is anazing. I would recommend talking with him to get his opinion of our needs as a church of our Lords. His name is Pastor Pat., ask Sharon Tucker for his last name.. I trust is opinion completely. He has a radio spot now that he is retired. He might be able to post the position. You can ask any of the older church members (older older members) their opinions to have someone like Pastor Pat helping with this very important search would be great. Just my opinion because I love my church and want to see we get someone that will love it as much as I do!!! Ronnie Martin will know Pastor Pat’s last name.
